Radio Diaries is looking for the next generation of Teenage Diarists. We’re hosting a contest to find the country’s most talented teenage storytellers, and the winners will work with us for a year to record audio diaries for NPR. To take part in the contest, teens should submit their true stories to our Teens Saga on Cowbird by May 31.
Hundreds of teens have already told their stories in words, photographs, and sound. See our favorites here.
Many are powerful tales of migration and escape. These are three stories about leaving a country, a town, and a cell behind.
If you’re a teen who would like to be on the radio, join Cowbird and tell your story in our Teens Saga now! For more information and a storytelling guide, click here.
